Rustock botnet network shut down, reports claimed.

Agents of federal law enforcement agencies along with Microsoft Corporation attacked on spam network and seized their computer equipment across the country from every single facility of Internet hosting, reports claimed.

This act of the agents of federal law enforcement agencies as well as of Microsoft Corporation is being described as the part of a sweeping legal attack which was originally designed by the authorities to cripple Rustock botnet network.

Restock botnet network is commonly recognized as the leading source of spamming or you may say sending junk emails across the globe over Internet, reports claimed.

This raid over this largest spam network was launched by Microsoft Corporation after learning about the civil lawsuit filed in Seattle in federal court in start of February.

This lawsuit was not against any operators or you may say was against unnamed operators of the network known as Rustock botnet.

The lawsuit had claimed that Rustock botnet actually infected millions of computers all over the world and had gained access of sending bulk of emails or spamming emails in addition to offering counterfeit software as well as different pharmaceutical products.

Microsoft Corporation had recently requested the federal court in Seattle to unseal the lawsuit and a federal judge finally unsealed this lawsuit on late Thursday on their request.

This raid of Microsoft Corporation’s task force was made in collaboration of the agents of law enforcement agencies on Wednesday evening.

The Internet hosting companies, from where the Rustock botnet network was being operated or hosted, have not been alleged by Microsoft Corporation in their lawsuit because these Internet hosting companies were unaware of the fact that a large spam network is being hosted by them.
