Panasonic Toughbooks to use by UK police to conduct electronic witness statement, reports claimed.
UK police has recently decided to go for this technology just in intention to conduct statement of witnesses electronically, reports claimed.
This technology would soon be seen implemented and would replace the traditional old manual paper process which is currently running in UK.
A trial period of three months will be conducted on this latest technology, which is being described as Panasonic Toughbook, in terms of getting electronic witness statement by the Avon & Somerset Constabulary, reports claimed.
This technology will be used by this constabulary with the help of a rugged laptop that will be brought in the field to serve this purpose of trial period.
This trial period of three months with the Panasonic Toughbooks will be supported by the Crown Prosecution Service or you may say CPS as well as by the National Policing Improvement Agency or you may say NPIA.
The results of this three-month trial period will be used in forming this larger project’s integral part which eventually led towards implementing a fully electronically prepared case file.
Now statement could be taken by the patrolling officers with the help of HeliMedia’s designed Form Patrol software which would also enable these officers to get digital signatures of the witnesses.
Officers will be given stylus as well as touch screen supportive laptops to serve these purposes.
The electronically typed or you may say created application or any legal document, which will eventually be distributed electronically to the concerned authorities, will be much easier to access as well as to read with the help of any desktop computer or laptop instantly.
